Vahan Grigoryan is a researcher, analyst, and co-founder of the Armenia-China Research Center (ACRC), specializing in China, international relations, and Armenia-China cooperation.

His engagement with China spans more than sixteen years. He first moved to Beijing in 2010, where he studied Chinese at Beijing Language and Culture University before completing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a focus on International Trade, at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). He later returned to UIBE and earned a Master’s degree in International Relations.

Over the course of his professional career, Grigoryan has worked across public administration, political and economic analysis, consulting, business development, and international trade. His experience includes analytical work at the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia, risk and business consulting, and private-sector roles involving cross-border cooperation and China-related commercial activities.

His long-term residence in China, combined with academic training in economics and international relations, has shaped his interest in China’s domestic development, foreign policy, and its growing role in Eurasia and the wider international system.

Grigoryan has written and published analytical articles on international politics, China, and Armenia-China relations. His work focuses particularly on China’s place in the emerging global order, the development of Armenia-China relations, the South Caucasus within wider Eurasian connectivity, and opportunities for deeper political, economic, technological, and academic cooperation between Armenia and China.

He co-founded the Armenia-China Research Center as an independent platform intended to bring together research, policy analysis, expert dialogue, and practical knowledge of China, with the broader aim of strengthening informed and long-term engagement between Armenia and China.
